College Application Fee Waivers

To have a college application fee waived, students must submit their fee waiver directly to the college they are applying to (NOT to the College Board/ACT).

Most colleges and universities define eligibility for a college application fee waiver as being eligible for or having received a fee waiver for a test such as the ACT/SAT or an SAT Subject Test, participating in the National School Lunch Program, or receiving public assistance.

Before using a fee waiver, students should check the list of participating schools to ensure that it will be accepted. Colleges that cooperate with the ACT/SAT Fee-Waiver Service are not required to waive their application fees, and some may request additional information before considering or honoring  the waiver.
